About the Lindsay Rowen Wenk Foundation... The Lindsay Rowen Wenk Foundation is
designed to support families with chronically ill children in an effort to
ensure they have the highest quality of life.We assist with payments of products and services that are not otherwise the responsibility of a third party payor such as social security, Medicaid, primary health insurance or other subsidized programs. We also provide referrals to other helpful agencies who might better serve the client. For example, Make-A-Wish offers valuable, one time gifts or amusement for terminally ill children. The American Cancer Society offers wigs and prosthesis. Therefore we do not provide these types of services (unless the item is unavailable through the ACS). We do help with utilities. Although most utility companies have programs that allow people in crisis or financial limitations to defer payments, we believe that simply postpones the problem and do not construe that as support. We only accept applications that come from third party referrals such as nurses, physicians, social workers, therapists, school personnel, and yes, even insurance companies. To access the internal pages you must first obtain a password from us. This can be achieved by: 1) If you are a professional referrer please phone or e-mail us to obtain a password. 2) If you become a member (someone who has donated to the foundation) you will be provided with a password when you make a contribution to our efforts. 3) If you are a client, a password will be provided to you within two weeks of receiving our support. Thank you for visiting the Lindsay Rowen Wenk Foundation website! |
![]() Lindsay Rowen Wenk was born October 3, 1990 and died February 11, 1994. Lindsay was ill from the time of birth. She was deeply loved and we spent much of her life searching for remedies to her health concerns. In 1993 we discontinued pursing extreme measures to keep Lindsay alive. Ironically it was that last year of life that she thrived both physically and emotionally until her disability caught up with her on February 11, 1994. Not a day goes by where she is not remembered and missed. We understand the struggle of balancing financial obligations, seeking medical help, and maintaining the highest quality of life and childhood for our child. In her memory we have dedicated ourselves to bettering the lives of families in similar situations. Lindsay taught us that it is not the quantity of life that matters, but the quality! |
